A beautiful HDR photo of the majestic medieval brick tower that is one of the symbols of the city of Brescia taken when I was in the city.

The tower was built in 1254 in the Brescia district of San Giovanni, it has a square base in Botticino stone to protect the Porta di San Giovanni located on the first medieval wall[1]. It is the only fortified structure of this wall that has survived to this day.
The name “pallata” comes from a palisade erected as a defense.
