Leaving by ship from Venice the spectacle is always guaranteed. This alone can repay the price of the ticket.
In addition to the very famous Piazza San Marco, in front of which you pass at the end of the Canale della Gidecca, you can see dozens of churches and bell towers.
In the photo one of these… I would like to be able to write to you which church it is but unfortunately I don't know.

Tradition attributes the use of bells as a call for assemblies to Paulinus (5th century), bishop of Nola, but the first report by Gregory of Tours dates back to 561, attesting to the use of the bell placed on a special turret to call the faithful. This construction spread rapidly starting in the 8th century when Pope Stephen II built a bell tower equipped with three bells in St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican.
