The House of Vines in Via della Chiusa

The House of Vines in Via della Chiusa.
This house is immortalized in many photos of tourists passing through my town.
It is located in Via Della Chiusa, one of the side streets of the Sestrese alley.
The peculiarity, in addition to the beautiful bright colors, is the large grape plant (a vine from which the house takes its name) that from the ground floor reaches up to the roof where I imagine there is a beautiful terrace with a beautiful pergola.
One is this, the second is in Vico del Bottone and the third is in Vico Marina di Ponente.

Birra Nastro Azzurro, bionda italiana.
Non sono molte le birre italiane che sono su questo sito in foto.
Questa e’ la Nastro l’unica birra che ho trovato in quasi tutte le pizzerie a Napoli.

Dessert dolcissimi in quel di Ibiza

Dessert dolcissimi in quel di Ibiza.
Tre ottimi dolci gustati in una splendida location di Ibiza. Vi ho fatto venire l’acquolina in bocca?
Sono gia’ trascorse diverse settimane dal giorno in cui ho scattato queste foto ai tre dessert proposti dal ristorante del resort Casa Maca ad Ibiza.
Purtroppo devo essere onesto e non ricordo nemmeno piu’ le descrizioni di questo tris di prelibatezze dolci ma erano veramente buonissimi, questo lo ricordo chiaramente.

Il dolce è uno dei cinque gusti fondamentali, quasi universalmente considerato una sensazione piacevole. I cibi ricchi di carboidrati semplici, come gli zuccheri, sono normalmente associati alla dolcezza. Esistono anche alcune molecole di origine naturale o di invenzione umana che vengono percepite come dolci a concentrazioni molto inferiori e possono essere utilizzate come dolcificanti ipocalorici. Infine, alcune sostanze, pur non attivando direttamente i recettori del dolce possono modificarne la percezione.

Baia del Silenzio il 2 settembre 2019

Baia del Silenzio il 2 settembre 2019.
Di ritorno a casa non potevo non andare a scattare qualche foto in Baia.
Uno dei simboli di Sestri Levante e perché no della Liguria.
E’ stata scattata dalla salita che va ai Cappuccini e mostra gli scogli. L’acqua, a dire proprio la verità, non era molto limpida però a causa del polline verdastro delle alghe.
Ma mi sembra comunque un bello scatto.

Sorge sulla piana alluvionale del torrente Gromolo, a ridosso di un promontorio roccioso, solitamente chiamato “l’isola”, proteso verso il mare, e unito alla terraferma da un istmo il quale divide la “Baia delle Favole”, dove è stato ricavato il porto turistico e il cui nome venne attribuito dallo scrittore Hans Christian Andersen (che soggiornò a Sestri Levante nel 1833), dalla più piccola ma ancora più suggestiva “Baia del Silenzio”.

A bas-relief of the Cathedral of Palermo.
Some photos of one of the chapels of the magnificent church of Palermo. In particular the altar of the chapel of San Pietro and Sant’Agata.
As in a previous shot of the Basilica dei Fieschi in Liguria, the lamb (but in this photo it could also be a sheep) is once again present in Catholic religious representations.

With Gualtiero Offamilio the cathedral is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin represented in three different iconographies: one is the Dormition of the Mother of God or «Koimesis tes Theotokou» or «Dormitio Virginis», which belongs to the Byzantine tradition, the other two belonging to the Latin tradition: the Assumption and the Coronation in Heaven.

Jamon dish in Ibiza

Jamon plate in Ibiza.
One of the foods that satisfies me most in Spain is a nice plate of jamon freshly cut and ready to eat with your hands.
To tell the truth, this didn't even seem freshly cut to me and it certainly wasn't Pata Negra (the best and most expensive Spanish ham) but I have to say that I was satisfied anyway.
I had it, together with some friends, a few weeks ago in a chiringuito by the sea in Ibiza.

Jamón ibérico (Iberian ham), or pata negra, or carna negra, is a type of ham from Iberian pigs, highly appreciated in Spanish and Portuguese cuisine, where it is considered a haute cuisine product. For its production, and to be able to boast this name, the meat must come from specimens resulting from a cross in which, from a genetic point of view, at least 50% of the Iberian breed participates.
