The historic district of the city of Salvador de Bahia, Brazil, has a multitude of churches and bell towers.
I photographed these from the ship while we were anchored in the port. Unfortunately this year I was unable to go out and take a tour of this beautiful place.
Brazil is a land whose inhabitants are very religious, as can be seen from the many religious buildings and churches that I photographed.

In the immediate vicinity is the Terreiro de Jesus square, where the cathedral, the University, the church of San Pedro, the church of the Third Dominican Order and, in an adjacent square, the church and convent of San Francisco, one of the most significant baroque churches in the whole of Brazil, overlook.
