The cult of Saint Biagio, protector, among other things, of wool carders, is probably one of the oldest in Finale. The production and trade of woollen torselli is a traditional activity in Finale, documented for the first time in 1128 by the Genoa customs regulation, in which the inhabitants of Finale appear as exporters of wool and hemp.
