The caruggio of Moneglia in Liguria.
Every self-respecting Ligurian village has its own carrugio (caruggio, carruggio) and the town of Moneglia certainly couldn't be an exception.
This is via Vittorio Emanuele, the straight alley that crosses the oldest part of the village and reaches the church of Santa Croce.

The ancient toponym of Moneglia (ad Monilia) appears in the Tavola Peutingeriana, a copy of the military map of the Roman Empire (11th – 12th century) preserved in the Austrian National Library in Vienna, discovered by the antiquarian of Augsburg, Corrado Peutinger, in the sixteenth century.
