The typical Ligurian houses, all colored and attached to each other, welcome all the visitors of the splendid Portofino.
Its little port, which is probably the most photographed in Liguria, is really splendid too, don't be offended if I tell you, there are equally beautiful ones in other villages.

In 1175 the small seaside village was placed under the administrative control, together with the adjacent Santa Margherita Ligure, of the free municipality of Rapallo, which purchased the rights to the village for 70 Genoese lire on behalf of the Rapallo consuls.
