The stonemason's portal in Ostuni.
The famous White City of Ostuni also serves some splendid sculpted portals.
One of these, the guide told us, is the one that according to legend was the portal of the workshop of a stonemason who, for marketing purposes as we would say today (or for pride) wanted to have the most beautiful work in the city.
Now there is no longer the workshop but a restaurant.
