The architrave sculpted by Biduino of the church of San Salvatore in Lucca.
Walking through the streets of the Tuscan city of Lucca you come across something beautiful at almost every corner.
Like this sculpted architrave that is on the facade of the ancient church (dating back to the year 1000) dedicated to San Salvatore.

Biduino was an Italian sculptor, an exponent of the Pisan Romanesque style, active in the period 1173-1194. Attentive to the study of Roman and late-ancient sculpture, especially sarcophagi, he re-proposed crowded compositions in narrative continuity, elongating the bodies of the figures according to a still Byzantine vision or denouncing analogies with Provençal works.
