The cloister of Santa Maria delle Vigne in the historic center of Genoa.
In the center of the alleys of Genoa, a little hidden from the passage of less assiduous visitors, there is the beautiful basilica of Santa Maria delle Vigne, a splendid church above all.
To the side of the church there is the beautiful cloister, built around the year 1000, which overlooked the homes of the canons.

Built as a Romanesque basilica with three naves, it had a roof with exposed truss, a slightly protruding transept with an octagonal dome and three semicircular apses. Originally, the central nave was separated from the lateral ones by a series of eight columns on each side, above which ran a false matroneum composed of a row of three-light windows side by side.
