The buildings surrounding the beautiful Campopisano square in Genoa.
The historic center of Genoa is, without a doubt, a place full of surprises.
One of the most beautiful places I recently discovered (discovered in the sense that after a long time I managed to photograph it too) is the beautiful Campopisano square.
In this shot I took more into consideration the tall buildings that create the frame.

The area, initially cited as “Campus Sarzanni” because it was located near the square of Sarzano, was renamed Campo Pisano after the victory of the Genoese fleet over the Pisans in the battle of Meloria (1284); in fact, according to tradition, in this place, at the time just outside the walls, thousands of Pisan prisoners were confined, most of whom, having died of hunger and hardship, were buried in that same place.
