The statue dedicated to John Paul II in the Cathedral of Chiavari.
In these days of celebration, I propose the photo of the statue created by Gaspare Da Brescia dedicated to Pope John Paul II (Karol Wojtyła) located in the pronaos (portico) of the cathedral of Chiavari.

He was elected Pope on October 16, 1978. Following the cause for beatification, on May 1, 2011 he was beatified by his successor Pope Benedict XVI; he is celebrated on the day of his inauguration, October 22. In the history of the Church, it had not happened for about a millennium that a Pope proclaimed his immediate predecessor blessed. On April 27, 2014, together with Pope John XXIII, he was proclaimed a saint by Pope Francis.
