Every time I am in Copenhagen by ship I am amazed at how far ahead the Northern European nations are in exploiting alternative energy.
This is a wind farm, positioned in the sea, just outside the Danish capital.

Middelgrunden is an offshore wind farm in the Øresund, opposite Copenhagen, Denmark. When it was built in 2000, it was the largest offshore farm in the world, with 20 turbines of 2 MW each and a total capacity of 40 MW, providing about 3% of the electricity used in Copenhagen.
