Firenze, la splendida città del Rinascimento

Florence, the symbolic city of the Renaissance.
A beautiful trip to the capital of Tuscany which for us Ligurians is only a couple of hours away by car.
This photo in particular was taken from the most famous panoramic point: Piazzale Michelangelo, the terrace overlooking the town.

All the photos you will find will be in order: Church of San Salvatore in Ognissanti, Piazza Santa Trinità and Basilica of Santa Trinità, Palazzo Strozzi, Ponte Vecchio and the Vasari Corridor, Piazza della Signoria with the Loggia dei Lanzi and Palazzo Vecchio, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore with Giotto's Bell Tower and the Baptistery of San Giovanni, the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella and finally the view from Piazzale Michelangelo.

Un vicolo stretto di Riomaggiore.
La partenza del sentiero che da Riomaggiore va a Portovenere comincia decisamente in salita.
Questa era la prima scalinata che ho dovuto affrontare e vi devo proprio dire che ero moro dopo pochi minuti.
Molto suggestiva la creuza però.

The alleys of Borgio Verezzi

The alleys of Borgio Verezzi.
Among the characteristic streets of the small village in Western Liguria.
I was there this summer and it was truly a splendid place.
Very small but truly splendid.
The stone houses and the steep and narrow alleys.

The municipal territory is made up of the two hamlets of Borgio (municipal seat) and Verezzi and the Verezzi nuclei of Crosa, Piazza, Poggio and Roccaro for a territorial surface of 2.73 km².
It borders to the north with the municipalities of Tovo San Giacomo and Finale Ligure, to the south with the Ligurian Sea, to the west with Pietra Ligure, to the east with Finale Ligure.

La vista da sopra il Monte Biscia

La vista da sopra il Monte Biscia.
L’estate scorsa, in una domenica soleggiata ma non ancora eccessivamente calda, avevo fatto il sentiero che da Case Soprane porta al Monte Biscia e poi scende a Reppia.
Questa è la vista, veramente splendida, che si gode appena sopra al Passo del Biscia e, se ci fate caso, si vedono (ai lati opposti) Portofino e Varese Ligure.
Spettacolare!

Mucche per strada in Cambogia.
Qualche settimana fa sono uscito per la prima volta in Cambogia e sono andato a visitare un tempio e il mercato della citta’ in cui arriviamo con la nave: Sihaoukville.
Lungo le strade, dissestate e a tratti nemmeno asfaltate, si vede tanta poverta’… che fa un po’ strano considerando che potenzialmente ci sono luoghi ancora incontaminati e nascosti da vedere. Le guerre hanno reso questo paese un disastro ma la ripresa sembra possibile: ogni cento metri c’e’ un edificio in costruzione e (come mi diceva qualcuno) i cinesi stanno investendo e edificando in maniera massiccia.
Queste per esempio erano delle mucche che “pascolavano” vicino a rifiuti e sporcizia.

Cibo di strada cambogiano

Cibo di strada cambogiano.
Nel mercato coperto di Sihanoukville alla scoperta del cibo di strada (street food Cambogiano).
C’e’ un po’ di tutto: dagli splendidi banconi di frutta esotica alla carne fresca passando per il pesce e i dolciumi.
Comunque molte bancarelle sono da stomaci forti (visto l’odore non proprio sano che proveiva ad esempio dalla carne).

Mercato di Sihanoukville

Mercato di Sihanoukville.
Prima volta che esco in Cambogia e vado a visitare uno dei posti piu’ dipici della citta’: il suo mercato.
Tanta frutta, un po’ di cibo di strada, tanto pesce, carne (ma non era molto invitante il banco del macellaio), magliette ed altre cose taroccate a gogo, e tantissimo oro (o comunque tantissime bancarelle che vendevano collane ed anelli d’orati).

Vicoli di Bonassola

Vicoli di Bonassola.
Era diverso tempo che mi proponevo di fare la passeggiata (ciclopedonale) tra Framura, Bonassola e Levanto.
Realizzata ristrutturando il tratto della ex ferrovia arriva a Bonassola, uno splendido borgo marinaro che si affaccia sul mar Ligure. Realizzerò un post separato per questo percorso.
Era, credo, la prima volta che lo visitavo e quindi ho scattato diverse foto che spero vi piaceranno!

According to some historical sources, the toponym of the town derives from Bulnetia or Bodetia, names that appear in some writings of the early Middle Ages. Other sources, considered more valid, would instead lead to the ancient term Vallis Bonazolae, indicating that coastal area between the present-day towns of Framura, to the west, and Levanto to the east.

Manneken Pis, uno dei simboli di Bruxelles

Manneken Pis, uno dei simboli di Bruxelles.
E’ la statuetta di un bambino che fa la pipì e si trova nella capitale belga. Pare che sia il simbolo della indipendenza degli abitanti della città fiamminga.

È tradizione offrire al ragazzo che fa pipì degli abiti in occasioni speciali, in particolare per onorare una professione. Il guardaroba attuale comprende più di ottocento costumi, che sono per lo più conservati nel museo della città ubicato nella Casa del Re sulla Grand Place. Il suo primo abito gli fu donato nel 1698 da Massimiliano-Emanuele di Baviera, governatore generale dei Paesi Bassi spagnoli.
