The Costa Diadema in port in Bergen at night.
Last summer I was aboard the beautiful Costa Diadema in Northern Europe.
During one of the cruises the rough seas made us skip a port and so we were forced to spend a night in port in Bergen.
Nice overnight, it's just a shame that the Norwegian town, especially during the week, doesn't offer many night-time activities.

Where the ship was located:

Costa Diadema is a cruise ship of the Genoese company Costa Crociere. Upon completion, it was the largest ship ever built under the Italian flag. Laid down on 10 December 2012 in the construction dock of the shipyard, it entered service as scheduled on 30 October 2014.

The former Costa Firenze in port in Tenerife.
When I was on board the Costa Firenze a couple of years ago I took many photos of the ship while it was in port.
Here we were on the dock in the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The decorations of the magnificent buffet on board the ship.
On some ships and on certain itineraries (usually on longer cruises) they try to recreate the Magnificent Buffet that was done many years ago on gala evenings.
When I was on board the former Costa Firenze, we went on 14-day cruises in the Western Mediterranean and that was what we did.
These were just some of the beautiful decorations that the kitchen prepared.

A spectacular sky starting from Cadiz

A spectacular sky at sunset departing from Cadiz.
Last year when I was on board the ex Costa Firenze departing from the port of Cadiz we were able to admire this truly incredible sky!
Another Costa ship also made an appearance, if I remember correctly the Costa Pacifica.

The Costa Diadema in Geiranger, Norway.
Last summer, when I was on board the Costa Diadema, one of the splendid ships of Costa Crociere, my wife and I went several times for a walk on the paths around Geiranger.
Obviously, I couldn't miss a few shots of my beautiful ship.

The Costa Fascinosa in the port of Barbados in the Caribbean.
A long time ago now, I took this photo while the ship I worked on (the Costa Fascinosa) was docked in the port of the Caribbean island of Barbados.
I had gone for a swim on the beautiful, and nearby, beach!

Costa Fascinosa is a cruise ship of the Genoa-based Costa Crociere company. It was ordered in October 2007 and built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera. It entered service on 5 May 2012. The names Costa Fascinosa and Costa Favolosa were selected through a competition. The choice of names was guided by approximately 40,000 travel agents in over 40 countries, who submitted more than 16,000 possible pairs of names for the two ships. In the end, twenty-five pairs of names were published on the World of Costa website, where visitors were invited to choose their favorite pairing, and after more than 42,000 preferences expressed, in the end the names “Favolosa” and “Fascinosa” were the winners.

The large model of the former Costa Firenze.
Last year I was on board the beautiful, in my opinion, Costa Firenze which unfortunately passed to Carnival in February 2024.
This was the large model of the ship that was present on the main deck of the ship itself.
Now have they changed the name on the model too?

Since today is Halloween I decided to show you some decorations that last year adorned the beautiful ship where I worked at this same time: the Costa Firenze.
In every bar and in all the common areas, many pumpkins reminded everyone of All Saints' Day.

The hall Piazza della Signoria on the former Costa Firenze

The Piazza della Signoria lounge on the former Costa Firenze.
Last year I was aboard the beautiful, in my opinion, Costa Firenze which unfortunately passed to Carnival in February 2024.
This was the main atrium, the one with the information office, excursion office and bar, in the center of which was this column surmounted by a majestic golden lion.
