The beautiful Santa Margherita Ligure seen from above

La bella Santa Margherita Ligure vista dall'alto

The beautiful Santa Margherita Ligure seen from above.
Travelling along the Via Aurelia, in the stretch that passes above and connects Rapallo to Recco (passing through Ruta di Camogli) spectacular views open up over the coast and the coastal towns.
Like at this point just above the town of Santa Margherita.

The view of Chiavari from the heights of Ri Alto.
Some time ago I passed through Leivi and going down towards Chiavari I took this photo of the Ri Alto area.
I really like that villa with its elegant tower, who knows what the view from there is…

I took several photos in the village and if you want to see them all click here:

The Monleone fortress was an ancient defensive and lookout settlement, built by the Republic of Genoa in the 12th century, located on the first slopes to the west of the town of Moneglia.

Forte Sperone on the heights of Genoa

Forte Sperone sulle alture di Genova

Forte Sperone on the hills of Genoa.
Last spring I went, together with some friends, for a walk on the hills of Genoa.
We wanted to go (and we went) to see Forte Diamante.
However, we left the car at the foot of another beautiful fort: Forte Sperone.
Very imposing, it dominates all of Genoa!

Where is the fort located:

Forte Sperone is a fortified work included in the “Mura Nuove” to defend the city, built on the top of Mount Peralto (489 m), at the meeting point of the two branches of the defensive wall. The union of the two walls, the one on the side of Val Polcevera and the one on the side of Val Bisagno, gives rise to a particular angular bastion, whose shape resembles the prow of a ship, from which the name of the fort derives.

The entrance to the cemetery of Nostra Signora del Monte in Genoa.
Some time ago, with my friends, we went for a tour (one of the many that we sometimes enjoy doing) to discover Genoa.
This time, starting from the Brignole train station, we headed towards Levante.
We then passed through the San Fruttuoso neighborhood and then decided to go up through the Villa Imperiale park and reach the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Monte, located on the hill overlooking the San Fruttuoso and Marassi neighborhoods.
From there we continued along the mule track to the Quezzi neighborhood and, a few meters from the sanctuary, we came across the cemetery of the religious complex of which I photographed the entrance (behind the gate).

The city of Rapallo seen from the hills behind

Rapallo vista dall'alto

The city of Rapallo seen from the hills behind
There are really a lot of houses (it is no coincidence that the term rapallization was coined) but it is enough to climb a little on the heights and you are already immersed in the olive trees.
Like the first photo I am inserting in this post, taken in the last kilometers of the path that took me from Chiavari to the Sanctuary of Montallegro and then finished the walk in the coastal town.
What a nice view!

The train station of Sestri Levante.
I like to go to the heights and photograph my town in detail.
Not having a drone I prefer to take old-style photos from above.
Here I was above the "mimosas" one of my favorite places!
