A beautiful slate portal in the alley of Rapallo.
Walking along the main pedestrian street of Rapallo I came across this beautiful slate portal.
I am very struck by these decorations, like those in the alley of Sestri Levante.

Caruggio or Carruggio, (a word that in the “official spelling” of Genoese should be written (Caroggio and pronounced Caruggiu, because in Ligurian the O is pronounced U), is the term used to indicate a street or alley, even a portico, typical of Ligurian historic centers.
