This, as you can see, is a classic example.
Various columns that support arches of all types; each building has its own style as well as each column and arch.

Portali in ardesia a Sestri Levante.
In via XXV aprile, che poi sarebbe il carrugio, quasi arrivati in Baia del Silenzio, si trovano queste decorazioni.
Non so molto sulla loro storia (e magari qualche lettore più esperto ce ne potrà parlare) ma sono molto spettacolari e belle da fotografare.
Riportano stemmi e araldi che forse sono della famiglia che anticamente abitava questo palazzo.
Assolutamente da vedere!

Si ritiene che l’ardesia fosse utilizzata in principio circa duemiladuecento anni fa nella zona del Tigullio (ovvero nell’area compresa tra il comune di Sestri Levante e la Valle Fontanabuona), già bacino del paleo-oceano ligure-piemontese. Il suo impiego come materiale di copertura di tetti risale a tempi antichissimi ed ha avuto il suo apogeo nell’epoca medioevale e poi in quella del Rinascimento. Oggi viene estratta prevalentemente da cave situate in Val Fontanabuona.

Vicoli moderni di Chiavari.
Nella citta’ di Chiavari, uno degli elementi piu’ caratteristici sono certamente gli antichi portici dei vicoli dei vari carruggi.
La bella cittadina, quando ha costruito questo nuovo palazzo in centro, ha continuato su questo stile ammodernizzando un pochino le forme ma mantenendo comunque l’ardesia e i colori bicromi.
Questo ora e’ il palazzo in cui ha sede la Polizia Municipale chiavarese.

Where is Via XX located:

Via Venti Settembre is one of the main roads in the centre of Genoa within the Genoese district of San Vincenzo, just under a kilometre long. It runs in an east-west direction and, together with Corso Italia – the promenade that runs along the seafront – is one of the favourite places for strolls by the Genoese. It crosses the two central districts of Portoria (first section, portico, from Piazza De Ferrari to Ponte Monumentale) and San Vincenzo (from Ponte Monumentale to the outlet on Via Cadorna near Piazza della Vittoria.
