St. Mark's Square seen from the ship

Piazza San Marco vista dalla nave

Piazza San Marco seen from the ship.
Departure from the port of Venice by ship with a view of Piazza San Marco while passing through the Giudecca canal.
It is probably the most beautiful and evocative thing you can do on a cruise.
This photo, taken by my friend Checco from the edge of the Costa Classica leaving Venice some time ago, is truly beautiful!

Piazza San Marco, located in Venice, is one of the most important Italian squares, renowned throughout the world for its beauty and architectural integrity, and is the only square in Venice. It is the only urban space in Venice that takes the name of piazza, as all other spaces in the shape of a piazza are properly defined as campi. Its main body has a trapezoidal shape and is 170 meters long: other areas are grafted onto it. It is also known as “the Piazza” or “the living room of Europe”.
