A beautiful and large shell on the beach of Tortola.
Walking along the long beach of Longa Bay Beach, on the Caribbean island of Tortola, I came across this beautiful shell on the shoreline.
I admit that I also added the piece of coral and the seaweed that were not so close to the shell!
This is also the Caribbean.

In Molluscs, the shell has different shapes depending on the class to which the animal belongs. It is composed of inorganic constituents such as calcium carbonate (CaCO3) or calcium phosphate (Ca3(PO4)2) that the animals extract from sea water and which are integrated with organic substances (usually a set of complex proteins secreted by the mantle).
