The Stork Fountain in Copenhagen

Oggi (a dire la verità diverso tempo fa) lo sguardo del mio obiettivo si è posato sulla mastodontica cupola di una delle più famose chiese di Copenaghen.
Da uno dei ponti esterni della nave in cui lavoravo (la Costa Firenze) ormeggiata nel porto della capitale danese.

La Costa Firenze in arrivo a Copenhagen

La Costa Firenze in arrivo nel porto di Copenhagen lo scorso luglio.
Il mio scorso contratto sono stato a lavorare sulla Costa Firenze (nave che era della Costa Crociere fino allo scorso gennaio – ora in Carnival).
Queste due foto le ho scattate dalla banchina aspettando mentre la nave stava facendo manovra per attraccare al porto di Copenhagen, in Danimarca.
Il mio primo giorno di contratto!

Every time I am in Copenhagen by ship I am amazed at how far ahead the Northern European nations are in exploiting alternative energy.
This is a wind farm, positioned in the sea, just outside the Danish capital.

Middelgrunden is an offshore wind farm in the Øresund, opposite Copenhagen, Denmark. When it was built in 2000, it was the largest offshore farm in the world, with 20 turbines of 2 MW each and a total capacity of 40 MW, providing about 3% of the electricity used in Copenhagen.

The citadel called Kastellet in Copenhagen

The citadel called Kastellet in Copenhagen.
If you want to walk from the center of Copenhagen (Copenhagen) to see the Little Mermaid you must necessarily pass through the famous star-shaped fortified district called Kastellet.
Inside there is a small fortress whose buildings, of a flaming red, have their own charm.
The star shape of the park and the canals make it all even more fascinating.

La statua della Sirenetta a Copenhagen.
Forse è una delle statue di fiabe più conosciute al mondo. Rappresenta la Sirenetta protagonista di una delle fiabe di Hans Christian Andersen (tanto caro a noi Sestresi che ogni anno gli intitoliamo un premio di letteratura per bambini).

La statua fu commissionata nel 1909 da Carl Jacobsen, figlio del fondatore di Carlsberg, il quale era rimasto affascinato da un adattamento della fiaba come balletto. Fu realizzata dallo scultore Edvard Eriksen (1876-1959) e mostrata per la prima volta al pubblico il 23 agosto 1913. Eriksen usò sua moglie Eline come modella.

Marmorkirken, the marble church of Copenhagen.
The Evangelical Lutheran church of Copenhagen whose name is literally the marble church. Dedicated to the three hundred years of the coronation of the first member of the Oldenburg dynasty. It is the building with the largest dome in Scandinavia.
On the roof of the facade two beautiful statues that I photographed in hdr.
It was built together with the Frederiksstaden complex, the most important rococo complex in Europe.

Nyhavn, l’antico porto di Copenhagen

Nyhavn, l’antico porto di Copenhagen.
Se una volta era il porto principale della capitale danese oggi è diventato uno dei punti più attrattivi per i turisti.
Nelle colorate e belle casette che si affacciano sul canale si trovano infatti solamente bar, bistrot e ristorantini (carissimi) nei quali si possono passare un paio d’ore in relax. Magari aspettando uno dei tantissimi battelli turistici iper-carichi di gente. Sembrava quasi di essere nell’ora di punta a Venezia.
Più suggestive sicuramente le imbarcazioni in legno che vi sono attraccate.
Da non perdere comunque!

Nyhavn fu costruito dal re Cristiano V di Danimarca dal 1670 al 1673, scavato da prigionieri di guerra svedesi dalla guerra Dano-svedese del 1658-1660 . Si tratta di una porta dal mare al vecchio centro urbano di Kongens Nytorv (King’s Square), dove le navi gestivano il carico e il pescato dei pescatori. Era famoso per la birra, i marinai e la prostituzione. L’autore danese Hans Christian Andersen ha vissuto a Nyhavn per circa 18 anni.
