La cattedrale di Ho Chi Minh costruita dai francesi alla fine del 1800.
Ci sono molte chiese cattoliche in Vietnam, molte di più di quanto potessi immaginare prima di venire in questo paese.
E’ proprio di fianco all’ufficio postale l’altro famoso edificio occidentale della città vietnamita.

L’ufficio postale centrale di Ho Chi Minh.
Uno dei palazzi più famosi e turistici della città vietnamita. Fu costruito a fine Ottocento sotto la influenza francese nell’Indocina.

The interior of the gallery consists of two streets that cross orthogonally, covered by an iron and glass structure. They are bordered by some buildings, four of which have access from the central octagon. Their facades mirror the main one: the lower order, in fact, is divided by large smooth pilasters, painted in fake marble that frame the entrances to the shops and the mezzanines above. The Serlian windows follow on the first floor, the mullioned windows on the second, and the square windows in the attic.

La Cattedrale di Palma.
Passando di fronte alla Cattedrale non e’ possibile non scattare una foto, anche se dal taxi.
L’imponente edificio, costruito nella parte alta della citta’ dalle guglie altissime.
Assolutamente da visitare.

È famosa per il suo rosone e per la grandezza delle sue dimensioni. Misura all’incirca 120 metri di lunghezza, 70 di larghezza, con una superficie di 6.600 m². Le sue volte, alte ben 44 metri, sono fra le più alte al mondo. L’edificio è enorme e si misura tra le più grandi cattedrali europee, superato solo dalla cattedrale di Beauvais, la cattedrale gotica dalle volte più alte del mondo (48 m), e leggermente inferiore all’altezza del duomo di Milano (45 m); al contrario, batte la cattedrale di Colonia, le cui volte raggiungono i 43 metri.

One of the symbols and most visited places in Valencia is its covered market (Mercado Central).
A monumental building (which anyone visiting Spain is used to seeing anyway).
Lots of people, especially tourists, and lots of typical Spanish foods.

Today, the Mercado Central brings together almost 400 small traders, mobilizing 1,500 people a day. It is the largest center in Europe dedicated to the specialty of fresh products; and the first market in the world that has faced the challenge of computerizing sales and home delivery since October 2, 1996. The Central Market sells all types of food such as fish, seafood, fruit, meat and cured meats for internal consumption and to supply important restaurants in Valencia.
