Here's where the market is located:

La Boqueria is the most famous market in Spain and one of the largest in Catalonia with its 2,583 square meters and more than 300 stalls. It is also one of the oldest markets in Spain: born at the beginning of the 17th century at the gates of the city in the plain of Pla de la Boqueria (which today is a small square in front of the current market) to avoid paying taxes on goods, it was inaugurated later, in 1836, where it is still located halfway along the popular Rambla, between the Palau de la Virreina and the Liceu Theater.

A slice of cake with strawberries

Torta con le fragole

A slice of cake with strawberries.
When we are in strawberry season (even though we can find any type of fruit all year round) it is the best to make a dessert that takes advantage of its scents and why not even its colors.
This strawberry cake made by my mother very simple with shortcrust pastry and custard is among the best in my house. Although, I must admit, I prefer the tart with jam (strictly strawberry).

The strawberry seeds

I semini della fragola

Strawberry seeds.
Today I enjoyed macro photography of fruit. I had some strawberries at home so here they are.
Despite the large magnification you can see the great softness of this fruit, don't you think?
As I just discovered these seeds are called achenes, I didn't know that!

Have you ever seen them so close up?

Although strawberries are considered fruits from a nutritional point of view, they are not from a botanical point of view, as the actual fruits are the so-called achenes, or the yellow seeds that can be seen on the surface of the strawberry.

A very good dish eaten on board the Costa Fascinosa included in the gala menu and prepared with rice, strawberries and champagne.
In addition to the delicate and rounded taste, an eye also to the aesthetics with a little flower as a garnish!

Of course, there are dozens of online recipes on how to prepare it: giallozafferano.it, misya.info or davidezambelli.com.

Risotto is a typical first course of Italian cuisine, originally from Lombardy, then spread throughout northern Italy and today spread in numerous versions throughout the country. Its main characteristic is the maintenance of the starch, which, gelatinized due to cooking, binds the grains together in a creamy compound.

A nice basket of strawberries

Cestino di fragole

A nice basket of strawberries.
An excellent basket of strawberries (which as you can read from the label come from Basilicata).
They are one of my favorite fruits.
I usually eat them cut into small pieces and left to macerate with a little water and sugar. Many also add a little red wine.

Strawberry refers to the fruits of plants of the genus Fragaria to which many different species belong. In reality, it is a false fruit or aggregate fruit. This term is commonly used to refer to the edible (composted) part of the plant: even if strawberries are considered fruits from a nutritional point of view, they are not from a botanical point of view: the actual fruits are the so-called achenes, or the yellow seeds that can be seen on the surface of the strawberry. The strawberry is considered an aggregate fruit because it is nothing more than the enlarged receptacle of an inflorescence, usually positioned on a special stem.
