Nella mia due giorni tra Salò e Brescia è stato possibile fare una scappata a Verona, città in cui non ero mai stato.
Ne è valsa veramente la pena, quante cose da vedere!

In October 1943, the Italian Social Republic, known as the Republic of Salò, was founded between Salò and Gargnano. The presence in the Lombard town of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the booths for journalists and the translation service for foreign press releases, which issued all the official press releases of the Republic, meant that the latter was known by the name of the city, even though the capital officially remained Rome.

The most photographed point of Portovenere

The most photographed spot in Portovenere.
Yesterday a trip to Portovenere, the beautiful seaside town a few kilometers from La Spezia.
A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
The style is typical of Ligurian seaside villages.

Where is Portovenere:

The first Romanesque part (1198) was followed by the Gothic part with black and white banded facing which dates back to the 13th century and was built by the Genoese, probably between 1256 and 1270.
