The small lake in Varese Ligure where you can spend an afternoon fishing. Just a few minutes by car from the center of the village of Varese there is a small lake where trout are raised and obviously fished. I didn't even know of its existence before my friend Antonio introduced me to it; he goes there every now and then to spend an afternoon with his daughter fishing for some fish (which you then pay by weight). An afternoon in the open air in a setting where nature (even if artificial) acts as a master.

Gramolazzo Lake in the province of Lucca Some time ago I went on a little trip to Lucca and, on the way back, I decided to take the road that passes behind the Apuan Alps between Garfagnana and Lunigiana. I must admit that I have never been there and I was very surprised to see this environment which is truly Alpine. At one point we came across this beautiful alpine lake which I discovered was artificial.

The Bargone Lake along the Monte Treggin path. Some time ago I went along the beautiful path that goes from Bargone up to Monte Treggin, Roccagrande and then passes by Bocco di Bargone. Just below the path, in a plain between Bocco, Roccagrande and Treggin, there is this marshy area (one of the few in Liguria), which when I passed by was quite evident!

Un pesce in un tempio in Vietnam. L’ultima volta che sono stato in Vietnam, ormai troppo tempo fa, ho fatto centinaia (se non migliaia) di foto ed alcune le devo ancora pubblicare. Come questa di un pesce il Gurami Gigante (anche se ammetto di non essere sicuro della specie) in un tempio lungo la foce del fiume Mekong. Era veramente enorme!
Questa specie è diffusa nel sud-est asiatico (Sumatra, Borneo, Giava, Thailandia – bacino del Mekong). Del tutto assente in Sarawak. Diversi paesi stanno introducendo questo pesce per acquacoltura. Continue and learn more on Wikipedia.
The snow-covered Lame lake. This splendid little lake, a few kilometres from Rezzoaglio, is very beautiful when it snows. I took a lot of photos a few days ago and I am slowly publishing the most beautiful ones. The contrast of the white snow with the green of the trees and the water is spectacular!

Lake Lame with snow at sunset. As is often said, Liguria is a land where in a few dozen kilometers you go from the sea to the mountains. On my site, you may have already noticed, you often see images of the sea and coasts but every now and then some beautiful mountain landscape pops up. Like in this post where I put a splendid photo of a beautiful lake, which seems Alpine, that I visited last Sunday on a short trip to Santo Stefano d'Aveto. On the road, in the municipality of Rezzoaglio, you can easily reach this place which, thanks to the snow that has fallen in recent days, offers a truly splendid spectacle. If you then add that it was about half past four in the afternoon, when a little sunset light filtered through the clouds, here is a spectacle for you, or at least I think so!

Cat Cat village nella regione di Sa Pa. Alcune immagini del piccolo villaggio contadino (anche se ormai vive solo di turismo) tra le montagne del Vietnam del Nord. Quesa è una delle piazzette principali del paesino. Ci si arriva scendendo il ripido vialetto che passa tra le varie casette. Qui un piccolo laghetto ricoperto da piante e circondato da fiori colorati è lo sfondo ideale per scattare foto. Nella prima delle casette per uccelli (un po’ abbandonate, vedendole da vicino). Nella seconda appunto il laghetto. Ho diverse altre foto in serbo.
A solitary water lily: a splendid flower. The water lily is a very beautiful and particular flower. Apart from the fact that it is also difficult to find but then it has something exotic... it is a bit like if it were the lotus "de nojatri". Since it seemed like a really beautiful photo to me, I modified it in HDR in color and also in black and white.

They are typically rooting and perennial aquatic plants. Some species can be considered marsh plants as they can easily tolerate temporary drops in the water level.
