An access from the lakeside to Lake Garda in Salò.
The lakeside of Salò is one of the most charming spots in the city. It extends for about 3 kilometers along the gulf, offering a panoramic walk with spectacular views of Lake Garda and the surrounding mountains. Along the way, you will find numerous cafes, ice cream parlors and restaurants where you can stop for a relaxing break. It is a pedestrian area, perfect for a quiet walk, both during the day and in the evening, when the lights of the city reflect on the water creating a magical atmosphere.
Salò is a town rich in history and culture. Here are some highlights:
– Centro Storico: Characterised by narrow streets and colourful houses, Salò’s historic centre is a charming place to wander around and discover quaint shops and artisan workshops.
– Duomo di Salò: The church of Santa Maria Annunziata, with its unfinished façade, is an example of Renaissance architecture and houses valuable works of art.
– Palazzo della Magnifica Patria: This historic building houses the Salò Museum, where you can learn about the history of the town and the surrounding region.
– Cedral Tassoni: The historic company that produces the famous Cedrata Tassoni is based in Salò, and its history is closely linked to that of the town.
Salò is also a great base for exploring other towns on Lake Garda, thanks to its central location and easy ferry and bus connections.

In October 1943, the Italian Social Republic, known as the Republic of Salò, was founded between Salò and Gargnano. The presence in the Lombard town of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the booths for journalists and the translation service for foreign press releases, which issued all the official press releases of the Republic, meant that the latter was known by the name of the city, even though the capital officially remained Rome.

The small lake in Varese Ligure where you can spend an afternoon fishing.
Just a few minutes by car from the center of the village of Varese there is a small lake where trout are raised and obviously fished.
I didn't even know of its existence before my friend Antonio introduced me to it; he goes there every now and then to spend an afternoon with his daughter fishing for some fish (which you then pay by weight).
An afternoon in the open air in a setting where nature (even if artificial) acts as a master.

Gramolazzo Lake in the province of Lucca
Some time ago I went on a little trip to Lucca and, on the way back, I decided to take the road that passes behind the Apuan Alps between Garfagnana and Lunigiana.
I must admit that I have never been there and I was very surprised to see this environment which is truly Alpine.
At one point we came across this beautiful alpine lake which I discovered was artificial.

They are very particular and I had never seen anything like them.

The Bargone Lake along the Monte Treggin path.
Some time ago I went along the beautiful path that goes from Bargone up to Monte Treggin, Roccagrande and then passes by Bocco di Bargone.
Just below the path, in a plain between Bocco, Roccagrande and Treggin, there is this marshy area (one of the few in Liguria), which when I passed by was quite evident!

Un pesce in un tempio in Vietnam

Un pesce in un tempio in Vietnam.
L’ultima volta che sono stato in Vietnam, ormai troppo tempo fa, ho fatto centinaia (se non migliaia) di foto ed alcune le devo ancora pubblicare.
Come questa di un pesce il Gurami Gigante (anche se ammetto di non essere sicuro della specie) in un tempio lungo la foce del fiume Mekong.
Era veramente enorme!

Questa specie è diffusa nel sud-est asiatico (Sumatra, Borneo, Giava, Thailandia – bacino del Mekong). Del tutto assente in Sarawak. Diversi paesi stanno introducendo questo pesce per acquacoltura.

In Vietnam, come in quasi tutta l’Asia, ci sono moltissimi templi o altari che si trovano in luoghi angusti ma molto spirituali.
E’ il caso di questo altare in un tempio in una grotta sopra al lago Tuyet Tinh Coc, nella regione di Ninh Binh.

A couple of weeks ago I was with friends in Santo Stefano d’Aveto and, on the way back, we also stopped at the splendid Lame lake.
This small lake, one of the few Ligurian glacial lakes (that is, dug out and formed by an ancient small glacier), is truly splendid with snow; if you then add the colours of the sunset…

Lago delle Lame is one of the few glacial lakes in Liguria. It is located in the highest area of the Ligurian Apennines, near another small group of glacial lakes: the Agoraie lakes (included in the Agoraie di sopra and Moggetto nature reserve).

The snow-covered Lame Lake

The snow-covered Lame lake.
This splendid little lake, a few kilometres from Rezzoaglio, is very beautiful when it snows.
I took a lot of photos a few days ago and I am slowly publishing the most beautiful ones.
The contrast of the white snow with the green of the trees and the water is spectacular!
