The alley of the Maina district in Sestri Levante.
I love walking in the historic center of my town.
This area, between the two bays, is called the Maina.
This narrow alley, called via Vincenzo Cappellini, runs parallel to the sea and with piazza Marsala and the nearby vico Macelli can be said to be the most authentic part of the seaside village of Sestri.
My grandfather was born in this street and I still remember the stories of my dad who, as a child, spent all his days at the seaside in the Bay of Silence and then came to eat with his grandparents who, in fact, lived in this street.

Here's where the alley is located:
The most historic building on Via Cappellini is undoubtedly the Hotel Miramare, which was created from the transformation of the noble residence built in the 17th century by Duchess Placidia Spinola, wife of Carlo Doria. The Hotel Miramare – once managed by Vincenzo Cappellini, hence the street name.
