Il Presepe di Manarola del 2021. Spero di fare cosa gradita pubblicando le foto che avevo scattato lo scorso anno a Manarola dove sono tornato a vedere il famosissimo presepe di luci (si dice il piu’ grande al mondo) che ricopre la collina sopra il piccolo borgo. Sempre uno spettacolo!

Manarola, one of the most photogenic villages of the Cinque Terre. This shot, together with the one of the village of Vernazza going down the Sentiero Azzurro, is one of those unmissable if you visit the Cinque Terre. And I, even though I live a few dozen kilometers away, even though I go there at least a couple of times a year for a walk, I can never avoid photographing it.

The view from the terraces above Manarola to the Cinque Terre. The beauty of the paths that connect the Cinque Terre, the five Ligurian villages famous throughout the world, is that of being able to go from the sea to the mountains in just a few minutes of walking. Some sections are really challenging but the view is truly priceless. You walk between terraces, the real ones built dry, and vineyards sometimes kissed by the sun other times refreshed by the sea breeze. It's almost a paradise for trekking lovers! I forgot: this is the section between Corniglia and Manarola perhaps the hardest of all!

Arriving in Manarola in the Cinque Terre. Arriving in Manarola after having walked the long and tough path that reaches the hamlet of Volastra amply repays the effort that may have been lost among the many steps uphill. When you are starting to descend there are at least a couple of passable roads; one of these takes you on a very steep descent, among the vineyards, almost sheer above the village.

Manarola, una delle Cinque Terre. Ultimo scatto della serie realizzata l’estate scorsa durante la mia camminata alle Cinque Terre. Il borgo, che in moltissimi ormai conoscono già, si vede e fotografa benissimo dalla piccola passeggiata, a picco sul mare, che una volta collegava il paese a Corniglia lungo il mare (percorso ormai non più esistente).

Le casette accovacciate di Manarola. Più o meno una volta l’anno mi sposto alle Cinque Terre per fare un po’ di trekking sui bellissimi sentieri della zona. A dire la verità, tra maggio e giugno mi è un pochino scappata di mano la situazione e facevo un paio di belle e lunghe camminate a settimana. Per la prima volta sono riuscito a fare il pezzo che da Corniglia va a Manarola passando da Volastra. Decisamente molto duro ma lo sforzo viene ripagato dalla splendida vista su Manarola e i vigneti che la circondano.

Le due Baie di Sestri Levante dalla Mandrella. Ancora una foto delle due Baie di Sestri Levante dall’ultima passeggiata alla Mandrella. Bella vero?
La foto purtroppo era molto chiara e l’ho dovuta elaborare un po’.
Il simbolo per eccellenza di Sestri Levante è Portobello (la nota Baia del Silenzio). Le case che si sporgono sul mare, una volta abitate solo da pescatori locali. Le barchette parcheggiate in mezzo. L’ex convento dell’Annunziata che oggi, ristrutturato, è utilizzato per mostre ed eventi. Una atmosfera da favola e, se avrete la fortuna di trovarvi qui in un momento dell’anno non particolarmente affollato, potrete capire perché viene chiamata la baia del Silenzio.
The beautiful Manarola in the Cinque Terre. I hadn't been able to visit Manarola lately. Yesterday, thanks to a beautiful September day, I filled the gap and went to the Cinque Terre to take some more photos. It may not be the most fascinating of the five but it's still really worth a visit!
