Fruit at the Boqueria market in Barcelona

Frutta fresca nel mercato coperto della Boqueria a Barcellona

Fresh fruit in the covered market of La Boqueria in Barcelona.
Dragonfruit, mango, papaya… but also cherries, strawberries, coconut, lilies and almost every seasonal and non-seasonal goodness.
These are the fruit stalls, magically set up, that attract tourists for a very healthy take-away.

Here's where the market is located:

La Boqueria is the most famous market in Spain and one of the largest in Catalonia with its 2,583 square meters and more than 300 stalls. It is also one of the oldest markets in Spain: born at the beginning of the 17th century at the gates of the city in the plain of Pla de la Boqueria (which today is a small square in front of the current market) to avoid paying taxes on goods, it was inaugurated later, in 1836, where it is still located halfway along the popular Rambla, between the Palau de la Virreina and the Liceu Theater.

One of the many markets in Da Nang, Vietnam

Mercato di Da Nang in Vietnam

One of the many markets in Da Nang in Vietnam.
One of the things I like to visit, and photograph, are local markets and in Asia there are some in every city.
Obviously all the products are inexpensive and, apart from food, everything is a copy of branded products.
You can find a bit of everything and here, in the photos, I preferred to only put photos of food!
In particular fruit (and in Vietnam you can find all types of tropical fruit), dried fish (here I put some photos of bags and bags of dried shrimp to add to fish dishes) and spicy sauces (in Vietnam every dish is spicy, very spicy!).
I hope you like them.
