Snow at Centocroci Pass last winter

Snow at Passo Centocroci last winter.
Last winter, after a very long time, I went for a walk in the snow.
Thanks to a nice snowfall we went (with some friends) to the Centocroci pass near Varese Ligure.
Lots of snow and photos with white as the protagonist!

Where is the pass located:

The Centocroci Pass (Sentu Cruxe in Ligurian) is a mountain pass located at an altitude of 1055 metres above sea level that separates the Val di Vara from Emilia, opening onto the ridge a few kilometres north-west of Mount Gottero, in the Ligurian Apennines.

Una foglia sulla neve

Una foglia sulla neve.
Dal momento che siamo da poco entrati nell’estate ho pensato giusto di pubblicare oggi una bella foto che ho scattato lo scorso inverno in quel di Santo Stefano D’Aveto.
Era una foglia, caduta da un albero, appoggiata sulla neve fresca.
L’inverno scorso, sfruttando i giorni di colore giallo e di forte neve, ero stato con i miei amici nell’entroterra per fare una gitarella sulla neve.

Snow at the Centocroci Pass last January.
When I went on a “trip” to the Centocroci Pass (which connects Liguria and Emilia Romagna) last January, I took lots of photos of the snow.
To tell the truth, at this altitude, snow falls almost every year here, but last January it really fell in a lot and, thanks to the yellow color of that weekend, we set off.
In an hour's drive from Sestri Levante, taking the state road that passes through San Pietro Vara and then Varese Ligure, you get to the Pass.
The view was decidedly “white” and wonderful.

The snow-covered Lame lake at sunset.
A couple of weeks ago I was with friends in Santo Stefano d’Aveto and, on the way back, we also stopped at the splendid Lame lake.
This small lake, one of the few Ligurian glacial lakes (that is, dug out and formed by an ancient small glacier), is truly splendid with snow; if you then add the colours of the sunset…

Where is the lake located:

Lago delle Lame is one of the few glacial lakes in Liguria. It is located in the highest area of the Ligurian Apennines, near another small group of glacial lakes: the Agoraie lakes (included in the Agoraie di sopra and Moggetto nature reserve).

Lake Lame with snow at sunset.
As is often said, Liguria is a land where in a few dozen kilometers you go from the sea to the mountains.
On my site, you may have already noticed, you often see images of the sea and coasts but every now and then some beautiful mountain landscape pops up.
Like in this post where I put a splendid photo of a beautiful lake, which seems Alpine, that I visited last Sunday on a short trip to Santo Stefano d'Aveto.
On the road, in the municipality of Rezzoaglio, you can easily reach this place which, thanks to the snow that has fallen in recent days, offers a truly splendid spectacle.
If you then add that it was about half past four in the afternoon, when a little sunset light filtered through the clouds, here is a spectacle for you, or at least I think so!
