The caruggio of Sestri Levante on a rainy night. Surely my Sestri is no longer one of the night attractions as it was perhaps thirty years ago. Apart from July and August, walking at night in the caruggio, you hardly meet anyone (and I'm not talking about two in the morning). I took these photos a couple of years ago, in March 2023, and as you can see it was also a slightly rainy evening.

The Bay of Silence at night in July. Last year, armed with a camera, I took some shots of the Bay at night. I'm not exactly an expert on night shots but the subject makes the task easier for me.

The Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante at night. I really like night photos but I admit that I'm not that good at taking them. First of all because I never have a tripod, and I always have to rest the camera on some object and then because I never have the patience to try and try again until I find the best settings. Walking in the Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante, one summer evening, I tried to take a couple of photos.

The arcades of Piazza Martiri della Libertà in Santa Margherita Ligure. The beautiful village of Santa (as it is normally called) has, like all Ligurian villages, several areas with arcades. Like in this part of the town, famous for being a meeting place for young people (and not only) on Riviera evenings. There are in fact several small restaurants and a couple of bars where you can enjoy the evening in company.

Superluna del 7 aprile dal balcone. Ieri sera c’è stata la luna piena ed era veramente molto luminosa e grande. Ovviamente, nonostante quello che vedete nella foto, questo è il massimo che i miei mezzi mi sono riusciti a far realizzare. Si vedono le macchie ma poco altro ed io avevo un tele a 300… Non capisco come abbiamo fatto a realizzare certe foto utenti solo armati da cellulare… Ci sono alcune bellissime foto realizzate con grandi teleobiettivi e telescopi.

Baia del Silenzio di notte. Portobello, altro nome della famosa baia di Sestri Levante, fotografata in notturna. Non ricordo nemmeno bene quando l’ho scattata, credo lo scorso settembre. Era una serata particolarmente limpida. La baia comunque è sempre splendida.
Superyacht nel porticciolo di Ibiza. Tutti sanno che Ibiza e’ l’isola del divertimento piu’ sfrenato e dell’ostentazione della ricchezza. Il porticciolo dell’isola ne e’ il primo esempio: barche, yacht e panfili che sembrano quasi navi da crociera parcheggiati. Ce ne era persino uno con l’elicottero. Voglio quotare la scritta di una foto che mi era arrivata su uno di quei gruppi What’s up: “ti accorgi di essere veramente ricco quando parcheggi la tua barca all’interno di un’altra tua barca”.
Con il termine pànfilo o yacht vengono indicate navi da diporto di dimensioni e peso, superiori a 24 metri di lunghezza, aventi alloggi confortevoli e, spesso, eleganti allestimenti. La parola yacht deriva dall’olandese jacht, che significa “caccia”. Nelle marine militari nordiche del XVII secolo, questo tipo di unità leggera e veloce aveva funzioni sia esplorative sia di trasporto. Le aziende produttrici hanno l’obiettivo di rendere questi tipi di imbarcazione molto veloci, leggere e maneggevoli.
