Mare da sogno: Great Bay a Philipsburg a Sint Maarten.
Se non è da sogno il mare qui non so proprio voi cosa sognate!
Questa è la bellissima spiaggia che si raggiunge con il taxi boat dal porticciolo di Philipsburg a Sint Maarten una delle belle isole dei Caraibi che, normalmente, sono tappa delle crociere.

Sint Maarten is a constituent nation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, which includes three other nations: the Netherlands and the Caribbean states of Aruba and Curaçao. The territory is made up of the southern part of the island of Saint Martin, located in the southern Caribbean Sea. The capital is Philipsburg. Sint Maarten borders to the north with Saint-Martin, an overseas collectivity dependent on France, whose territory makes up the northern part of the island.

Dream beaches: Accra Beach in Bridgetown, Barbados.
I can't get out of the ship very much, but when I do, I always try to go to the beach (being in the Caribbean...).
A few months ago I visited the beautiful beach called Accra Beach (or Rockley Beach), a few kilometers from the port of Bridgetown on the island of Barbados.
I think it's useless to explain much about this beach: you can understand everything from the pictures!

Here's where the beach is located:

The origin of the name “Barbados” is somewhat controversial. The Portuguese, on their way to Brazil or the Spanish, are credited with being the first Europeans to choose the name for the island.
The name Barbados is said to derive from the Portuguese term os barbados (the bearded ones), given to the island in 1536 by Portuguese explorer Pedro A. Campos because the long, hanging aerial roots of the bearded fig trees (Ficus citrifolia), native to the island, looked like “beards.” The name the Arawak natives gave to the island was Ichirouganaim.

Dream sea: the crystal clear water of Grand Anse in Grenada in the Caribbean.
Using my Gopro every now and then I have to say that I get some really interesting shots.
Like this one taken on the beautiful beach of Grand Anse, one of the most famous in Grenada, with the crystal clear water that breaks on the shore.

The most popular beaches are located in the southwest of the island, where the airport is also located. In this area is Grand Anse Beach, a 3 km long beach considered one of the 10 most beautiful in the world.

Una bella foto invernale della bella spiaggia (quella che da molti viene chiamata la spiaggia del bunker) fotografata lo scorso inverno (l’11 febbraio 2021).
Ho sempre moltissime foto che scatto ma riesco a pubblicare solo molto tempo successivamente.

Surf nella spiaggia di Recco

Surf nella spiaggia di Recco.
Ormai anche in Liguria ci sono diversi tratti di mare che, in alcuni periodi dell’anno e con le adeguate condizioni meteo-marine, sono adatte al surf.
Ora, prendete questa parola con le pinze: per quello che ne so io ne vedremo poche di gare internazionali da queste parti però, credo che per un appassionato, possa andare bene anche il Mar Ligure.
Fino ad ora io ho visto surfisti a Sestri Levante, a Levanto, a Genova Nervi e ora anche qui a Recco.
La foto è stata scattata lo scorso ottobre.

The little port of Nervi

The small port of Nervi.
Walking along the splendid Anita Garibaldi promenade, starting from the Nervi Parks, you arrive at the small port of the Genoese village.
This photo, taken several months ago (last September 5th), portrays the small port on a Sunday with rough seas.

A first urban settlement arose in the current area between the Roman bridge and the small port and already in the first decades of the Christian era a station for stopping and changing horses was mentioned in an area considered strategic and as a point of embarkation to and from goods going to and from the Bisagno and Fontanabuona valleys.

The waters in the Bay of Fables seen from the drone

The waters in the Baia delle Favole photographed by the drone.
I really like the photos, obviously taken with the drone, of the waves breaking and the white of the foam.
Unfortunately it will be difficult to portray very large waves because large waves, normally, also mean strong wind and with the drone the wind is not a good thing.
This is a portion of the beach of the Baia delle Favole in Sestri Levante at the height of the Octagon.

Tramonto in controluce a dicembre.
Il mese scorso il mare ha ringhiato un paio di volte ed è sempre bello fotografare i cavalloni che si frangono contro la riva.
Qui eravamo nella spiaggia di Sant’Anna, nell’ora del tramonto, e ho cercato di giocare un po’ con la luce e l’esposizione al tramonto.
Risultato? Così così forse potevo fare meglio ma non avevo il treppiedi che mi sarebbe davvero servito.

The statue of the fisherman in Sestri Levante.
I think that in recent years the statue of the Fisherman has become the most photographed statue in my town: Sestri Levante.
Situated as it is in the Bay of Silence, right in front of the Ex Convento dell'Annunziata, it is often lashed by the waves that, fortunately, very rarely arrive too impetuously in this bay.

Sestri Levante stands on the alluvial plain of the Gromolo torrent, close to a rocky promontory, usually called “the island”, jutting out towards the sea and joined to the mainland by an isthmus which divides the “Baia delle Favole”, where the tourist port was built and whose name was given by the writer Hans Christian Andersen (who stayed in Sestri Levante in 1833), from the smaller but even more evocative “Baia del Silenzio”.

Mareggiata a Sant’Anna il 28 dicembre 2020.
Quest’oggi, mentre nel resto della Liguria (a Ponente) c’era la neve, a Sestri Levante c’era una mareggiata che sferzava la spiaggia e le gallerie di Sant’Anna.
Ho scattato diverse foto mentre stava sopraggiungendo il tramonto.
Vi sottolineo le onde che arrivavano alle gallerie ed addirittura le sorpassavano in altezza (da cui la chiusura al traffico del pomeriggio.
