Several green Mexican chili peppers.
I don't know if these are the infamous jalapenos but I think that even if they are not they would be able to burn the palate of many (including me for sure). These chili peppers were on display in a Mexican supermarket in Cozumel.

Uno delle spezie più piccanti che esistano: i peperoncini.
Questi non sono forse i chili centroamericani ma sono decisamente forti: merito di anni ed anni di incroci e selezioni casalinghe dell’ingegnere genetico di casa!

This is also one of the “poor” dishes: anchovies in salt.
Obviously “in salt” is the method of preservation.
These in the photo have already been removed from the arbanella in which they were preserved and prepared with a little oil, garlic, rosemary and chili pepper.

Questa è una foto veramente calda e piccante e vorrei proprio vedere se qualcuno mi può contraddire!
In realtà la foto non è piccante nel senso erotico del termine ma solamente perché rappresenta qualcosa che picca: un peperoncino!
