Sestri Levante seen from the Punta Manara trail.
A classic and probably one of the most beautiful (and at the same time easy) trails in Tigullio: the Mandrella or Punta Manara trail that goes from the centre of Sestri Levante to Riva Trigoso.
About halfway, when you are about to reach the highest point, you can enjoy the incomparable view of the Baia del Silenzio and the Sestri Peninsula.

I giardini della passeggiata a Ponente di Riva Trigoso.
La “nuova” passeggiata a mare di Riva che tutte le volte che faccio il sentiero di Punta Manara fotografo.
L’edificio della Biblioteca pubblica e le aiuole con i giochi per i bambini.
Mi piace questo angolo del borgo marinaro a Levante del mio comune.

The houses by the sea in Baia del Silenzio in Sestri
Una delle viste più belle della mia cittadina, Sestri Levante, e’ quella che si può godere della Baia del Silenzio fotografata dall’alto.
Purtroppo non sono molti i punti panoramici da dove si vede con chiarezza a causa delle ville e dei muri che ne ostacolano la vista percorrendo il sentiero che sale verso Punta Manara.
Ci si deve arrampicare un poco in alto e poi, con un buon teleobiettivo, si possono realizzare degli scatti come questo

The view of Sestri Levante from the Mandrella trail.
One of my favorite trails also because I can set off on foot from my house and do the tour in a couple of hours at a leisurely pace.
And the view, of Sestri Levante but also of Riva Trigoso, is unparalleled.
The Mandrella trail or, as it is better known, Punta Manara.

In addition to being a beautiful walk, it offers an unparalleled view of Sestri Levante and especially of the Baia del Silenzio.

Le giostre di Sestri Levante viste dal sentiero per Punta Manara.
Tutti gli anni, nel periodo attorno alle feste natalizie, e’ tradizione della mia cittadina (Sestri Levante) di ospitare nella spiaggia dei Barconi (una porzione della Baia delle Favole) le giostre.
Anche se questa foto e’ scattata da lontano, lungo il sentiero che passa da Punta Manara, si vede molto delle una delle attrazioni più adrenaliniche a disposizione.

Following the path that from Riva Trigoso reaches Sestri Levante passing by Punta Manara, when you are about to start descending to Sestri you find yourself with this splendid view of the Peninsula (Island) and the Gulf of Tigullio.

A few months ago I went to the famous rock that can be reached from the Punta Manara path and which is called Ciappa du Lu’.
From that point, with an adequate telephoto lens, you can see the Bay of Silence from a truly unusual perspective, isn’t that right?

La Ciappa du Lu a Sestri Levante

Il famoso scoglio chiamato la Ciappa du Lu a Sestri Levante.
Finally last autumn I managed to reach what is probably the most famous rock in Sestri Levante.
It is located almost below Punta Manara and can be reached by boat or by deviating from the Mandrella path.
A steep and rugged but not difficult descent of about half an hour and you arrive at this magical place. Do you have the right shoes? I recommend not trying the descent in flip-flops. If you are interested in seeing some excellent products these These are the best trekking shoes available on Amazon according to customer reviews.

The mouth of the Petronio stream in Riva Trigoso.
I like to photograph the mouth of this stream also because I almost always do it when I walk along the path that goes to Punta Manara.
In fact, above Villa Ginestra, there is a spectacular view of Riva Trigoso and the Petronio often offers beautiful shapes and colors to photograph.
We were here at the end of last October.

It originates from Mount Groppi, not far from the Bracco Pass and the Velva Sanctuary. It crosses Casarza Ligure and then flows into the Ligurian Sea, in the bay of Riva Trigoso, located between Punta Manara and Punta Baffe, in the municipality of Sestri Levante. The total length of the watercourse is about 15 km.

Sul Monte Castellaro da Via Val di Canepa

Sentiero per il Monte Castellaro da Via Val di Canepa.
Non ero mai passato da Via Val di Canepa per raggiungere il sentiero di Punta Manara.
Se si raggiunge infatti in cimitero di Sestri Levante, al suo lato, comincia questa strada sterrata che poi si trasforma in un ripido sentiero che arriva fino a quello più famoso e frequentato che dal Centro di Sestri porta a Punta Manara.
Al termine della salita un primo bivio: a sinistra si va al monte Castellaro, a destra verso Sestri e Punta Manara. Se si sceglie la seconda opzione dopo un centinaio di metri si apre un altro bivio: destra per il centro di Sestri, sinistra per Punta Manara.
