The archivolt of S. Giacomo in Genoa

L'archivolto dell'oratiorio di S. Giacomo in via Santa Croce a Genova

The archivolt of the Oratory of San Giacomo in Via Santa Croce in Genoa.
This small alley, which passes under a high archivolt, passes right behind the Mura delle Grazie.
I always like to venture into the alleys and take photos and, when I can, I always try to learn more about the places I immortalize (and visit).

Here's where I took the photo from:

The Oratory of San Giacomo della Marina is a Catholic religious building in the historic center of Genoa, located on the Mura delle Grazie, in the Molo district. Built in the fifteenth century and rebuilt in the seventeenth century, it is the seat of the “Confraternity of San Giacomo della Marina”. It stands a short distance from the sanctuary of N.S. delle Grazie, on the city walls, in that stretch lapped by the sea until the end of the nineteenth century; throughout the Middle Ages it was an important stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.

The archivolt of Vico behind the Choir of S. Cosimo

The archivolt of Vico behind the Choir of S. Cosimo in the alleys of Genoa.
This is one of the narrow passages of the alleys of the oldest but also most true and beautiful Zena.
A passage under this archivolt just behind the Choir of San Cosimo.

The ruins of Santa Maria in Passione in Genoa

I ruderi di Santa Maria in Passione a Genova

The ruins of Santa Maria in Passione in Genoa.
Wandering through the alleys of the historic center of Genoa, some time ago, I came across these ruins of a church that I had never seen and knew nothing about.
Reading something online I discovered that it was a church, Santa Maria in Passione, destroyed during the Second World War and that now, only partially restored, is home to a cultural center.

Here's where the ruins are located:

The church of Santa Maria in Passione was a religious building in the historic center of Genoa, located in the square of the same name on the Castello hill, in the Molo district. Closed in the nineteenth century due to the laws suppressing religious orders issued by the Savoy government, the complex including the church was first transformed into a barracks and finally became the headquarters of the O.N.M.I., before being almost completely destroyed during the Second World War.
