The plaque outside the church of San Bernardo in Sestri Levante.
On the facade of the small church in the hamlet of San Bernardo, on the heights of Sestri Levante, there is this plaque that reads:

To tell the truth, I can't really understand who Bernardo was and I don't understand (because I can't read it well from the photo) that SII after the name.
If anyone can help me, please do!

Monumento ai Caduti della prima guerra a San Bernardo

The monument to the Fallen of the First World War in San Bernardo, a hamlet of Sestri Levante.
On 21 May 1922, exactly one hundred years ago, this monument was placed in the small square of the church in San Bernardo, a hamlet of Sestri Levante, in memory of the local fallen in the First World War.
The inscription reads:

Agli oscuri Eroi
morti combattendo
per una Patria più Libera
ed una migliore Umanità
i concittadini
memori e riconoscenti.

Muzio Stefano di Giuseppe

An alley in San Bernardo, a hamlet of Sestri Levante.
A few months ago I discovered the beautiful path that leads from Santo Stefano del Ponte to the hamlet, a little higher up, of San Bernardo.
The small village surrounded by olive trees that dominates my town.
A main alley (the one in the photo), with the village church at the end, onto which practically all the houses overlook.

La vista scendendo da San Bernardo

La vista scendendo da San Bernardo.
Nelle molte alture (anche se non molto elevate) che coronano la mia cittadina, Sestri Levante, si trovano moltissimi punti in cui si riescono a scattare delle bellissime foto.
Ogni tanto il sole e la foschia le rende meno o più belle.
Questa foto, se ricordo bene, l’avevo scattata lo scorso marzo!

La chiesa di San Bernardo sopra a Sestri Levante

The church of San Bernardo above Sestri Levante.
Also called San Bernardo delle Cascine, this beautiful little church just above Sestri Levante is the place of worship of the Sestri hamlet.
The church, from the 1600s, was previously dedicated (even in 1100), to San Quirico.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find much online.

Salendo sul sentiero che porta a San Bernardo ci sono diversi punti nei quali si riesce a godere di una bella vista su Sestri.
Come questa, leggermente incorniciata da qualche fronda, nella quale si vede bene il golfo e la Baia delle Favole.

The small village of Loto in Liguria.
Among the villages and hamlets in the Sestri Levante area there is also one called Loto.
It is located along the road that passes through San Bernardo and rejoins the one that goes to Libiola and Montedomenico.
Just before there is also the detour that leads to Selva.

Sestri vista da San Bernardo.
Il centro di Sestri Levante fotografato dalle alture appena dietro la cittadina rivierasca.
Con il teleobiettivo è venuta abbastanza bene anche se l’umidità (l’avevo scattata a fine agosto) non la ha resa molto nitida… Scattavo anche senza cavalletto…
Fa il paio con alcune altre foto che avevo scattato diversi mesi fa!

Pila sul Gromolo

The hamlet of Pila sul Gromolo in Sestri Levante.
Pila is a popular neighborhood of Sestri Levante. Popular because there are several apartment buildings built to house the many workers of the former FIT and the Naval Shipyard.
It is now a residential neighborhood in all respects.
The photo was taken from the heights of San Bernardo and you can see the soccer field (the Sivori A) where the Corsari, the local team, play, and next to it the modernist church of San Paolo in Pila.
The quality is not excellent because I was really far away and there was a lot of humidity, however I think it is a pleasant shot.
