Il bassorilievo dedicato a Balin Seghezzo in centro a Santa Margherita Ligure. Questa opera è posta a ricordo del fondatore della storica drogheria Seghezzo di Santa, Balin Seghezzo. Dal 1900 ed ancora aperta ai giorni nostri (è a fianco al bassorilievo) fa conoscere le prelibatezze della zona con prodotti locali (e non solo) di eccellente gastronomia.
Così recita la targa sotto al bassorilievo:
“Migliaia, milioni di individui lavorano, producono e risparmiano nonostante tutto quello che noi possiamo inventare per molestarli, incepparli, scoraggiarli. È la vocazione naturale che li spinge; non soltanto la sete di guadagno. Il gusto, l’orgoglio di vedere la propria azienda prosperare, acquistare credito, ispirare fiducia a clientele sempre più vaste, ampliare gli impianti, costituiscono una molla di progresso altrettanto potente che il guadagno. La Chiesa di San Lorenzo della Costa che domina il Tigullio Occidentale. Percorrendo la strada Aurelia nel tratto tra Rapallo e Recco si scavalla il Monte di Portofino e poco prima di arrivare nel punto più alto di passa nella piccola frazione di San Lorenzo la cui chiesa ed il campanile godono di una vista eccezionale.

Distante all’incirca quattro chilometri dal centro urbano sammargheritese, la frazione collinare è situata a 198 metri sul livello del mare lungo uno sperone roccioso circondato da tipiche coltivazioni ad ulivi con la caratteristica tecnica ligure dei terrazzamenti. The arcades of Piazza Martiri della Libertà in Santa Margherita Ligure. The beautiful village of Santa (as it is normally called) has, like all Ligurian villages, several areas with arcades. Like in this part of the town, famous for being a meeting place for young people (and not only) on Riviera evenings. There are in fact several small restaurants and a couple of bars where you can enjoy the evening in company.

Il sagrato con i risseu in piazza Caprera a Santa Margherita Ligure. La bella piazza Caprera con il sagrato in risseu (i ciottoli rotondi, solitamente bianchi e neri) della chiesa di Nostra Signora della Rosa. A fare da cornice alla piazza gli altrettanto belli portici che in un tratto sono anche decorati con affreschi molto carini.

Gli spaghetti alle vongole e bottarga. A detta della mia ragazza quasi, fino ad ora, sono i migliori spaghetti alle vongole che lei abbia mangiato in Italia. Con l’aggiunta di bottarga hanno ancora più gusto! Li abbiamo gustati al ristorante Caffè del Porto di Santa Margherita Ligure (il sito caffedelportosanta.it).

Rapallo e Santa Margherita dall’alto. Dal sentiero che porta al Santuario di Montallegro si può godere di una vista eccezionale sul Golfo del Tigullio. Si vede benissimo il porticciolo di Rapallo e quello di Santa Margherita oltre che le due bellissime cittadine. Quando ero stato a fare il sentiero (da Chiavari) avevo scattato veramente tante foto che piano piano vi pubblico.
The porticos of Piazza Caprera in Santa Margherita Ligure. The beautiful Piazza Caprera in Santa, where the church of the Madonna della Rosa stands, completes the churchyard with these beautiful porticos painted and frescoed with these floral and geometric motifs. I must say that I have never visited the coastal town carefully, but like almost all Ligurian villages, it has hidden and splendid views.
