Writings of Palazzo Fascie Rossi in Sestri Levante.
On the facade of the building in the center of Sestri Levante, some writings stand out that decorate it: “Per non dormire” and “Conosci thyself”.
I will talk about the first one below; as for the second one, in Latin nosce te ipsum, it was the Greek inscription in the temple of Apollo in Delphi.
They intrigue me and I would like to know more.

Update: thanks to the site curiositasufirenze.wordpress.com I discovered that the motto is from a Tuscan family, the Bartolini Salimbeni, whose coat of arms is three poppies enclosed in a circle (like in the majolica in the photo). Why is it there?
