The path that passes through the Selva above Sestri

Il sentiero che passa sulla Selva sopra a Sestri Levante

The path that passes through the Selva above Sestri Levante.
Several beautiful paths that start from (or arrive at) Sestri Levante pass through the Selva, a large clearing that dominates Sestri Levante.
In this case I took the photo last September, while I was walking along the path that goes from San Bernardo to Santa Giulia passing through the Selva and Monte Capenardo.
Once you get here there are several routes you can take: you can go down to Sant'Anna, Cavi di Lavagna, Santa Giulia or Barassi, you can continue to the top of Monte Capenardo or, again, go towards the hamlet of Loto.
The choice is truly vast!

Since many people have asked me how to get there, I wrote it in the comments.

The church of Sant’Eufemiano in Cavi Borgo

La chiesa di Sant'Eufemiano lungo il sentiero che dalla Selva va a Cavi Borgo

The church of Sant’Eufemiano in Cavi Borgo
In the middle of the woods that cover the western side of the slope that goes from Selva down to Sant’Anna stands this beautiful little church.
When you are on the Selva there are several options for the descent: you can go with a path that reaches San Bernardo; you can go down on the path that goes to Sant’Anna; you can go down with the path that passes by the church of Sant’Eufemiano; you can go down with the path that reaches Barassi and then to Santa Giulia.
I took the photo of the church from the last named path because I haven't come down from the church yet.

I end this short trio of posts with this photo that I must say I like very much.
It is no coincidence that it is on my desktop at this moment.
The ridge of one of the hills overlooking Sant'Anna seen from Selva.

The plaque on the Selva above Sestri Levante

The plaque on the Selva above Sestri Levante.
There is a place in Sestri Levante that almost everyone knows: the Selva.
Normally people go there for the late April holidays (April 25th or May 1st) or for some young and slightly “illegal” event.
But this place is above all this, that perhaps few people know about.
