A building in via Fascie in Sestri Levante.
I imagine that everyone who lives in Sestri (like me), or who comes here every now and then, has stopped at least once at this pedestrian crossing.
For those who remember, once upon a time, to cross the road there was a traffic light at the intersection of Piazza Sant'Antonio which for several years has been replaced with a roundabout.
The crossing has been moved to Levante via a traffic light on call placed right in front of this beautiful building!
The portico is enlivened by the (fake) flowers of the Chinese shop that is located right there!

Cavalier Vincenzo Fascie is a key figure for the city of Sestri Levante. In fact, upon his death on December 28, 1920, he left all his assets to the city, “with the sacrosanct purpose of bringing some industrial advantage and well-being and progress to my hometown.”

L’incrocio di Pietra Calante a Sestri Levante.
Questa casetta diroccata è da moltissimi anni al centro di grandi discussioni nella mia cittadina.
Qui ci troviamo di fronte alla spiaggia di Sant’Anna, poco prima delle gallerie che portano l’Aurelia verso Lavagna e Chiavari.
Questo è l’incrocio che porta a via Antica Romana Occidentale.
Al centro dell’incrocio c’è questo rudere che anni fa si voleva abbattere per permettere di ricostruire l’incrocio in maniera più sicura. Ci vorrebbe forse una bella rotonda ampia.
Invece no: le voci dicevano che non si poteva abbattere perché edificio di carattere storico e quindi sottoposto a tutela dei beni culturali.
Si vede poco perché coperto da piante ma ci deve essere una serie di piccole colonne molto antiche che si vogliono tutelare.
