Wisteria blooming in spring in Sestri Levante.
When in spring, between April and May, the wisteria blooms, you can find truly magnificent corners to photograph.
Like these benches, on the seafront promenade in Sestri Levante, which have this truly spectacular pergola of wisteria plants.

Here's where this point is located:

Wisteria grow by wrapping themselves around any support, both clockwise (like W. floribunda) and counterclockwise. The Wisteria collection at the Gardens of Villa della Pergola in Alassio is considered the most important in Italy today, with about 40 different types of the Wisteria species.

Glicine in fiore a maggio.
Un fiore che fiorisce in questa maniera quasi esplosiva in primavera.
Mi piace molto il lilla di questi boccioli ed il fatto che quasi sempre queste piante sono l’ornamento di tetti e dehor di belle case. Questa per esempio era sul cancello di una bella villa vicino alla Lapide di Sestri Levante.
Ve la pubblico oggi (anche se è già di alcuni mesi fa) perché non volevo intasare il sito di post.

Le Wisteria crescono avvolgendosi attorno a qualunque supporto sia in senso orario (come W. floribunda) sia in senso antiorario (W. sinensis). Possono crescere fino a 20 m in altezza e 10 m in orizzontale.

Fiorellini a Lambert Bay

Fiorellini a Lambert Bay.
Dei piccoli fiori bianchi e viola che ho trovato in questa bella spiaggia caraibica.
Dovrebbero appartenere and una pianta di mangrovia che era proprio nella sabbia a una decina di metri dall’acqua del mare.
Un bel benvenuto alla spiaggia.

La mangrovia è una formazione vegetale (o forestale), costituita da piante prevalentemente legnose, che si sviluppa sui litorali bassi delle coste marine tropicali, in particolare nella fascia periodicamente sommersa dalla marea. Il WWF considera la mangrovia come un bioma, una delle quattordici maggiori tipologie di habitat in cui viene suddiviso il globo terrestre.

Fiori di lavanda

Fiori di lavanda.
Da qualche giorno osservo in rete molte foto di questo fiore. Non mi sono potuto esimere dallo scattare una foto anch’io.
Devo ammettere che gli scatti che ho visto io erano decisamente piu’ caratteristici con prati di kilometri di questo fiore… io mi accontento dell’aiuola di un giardino.

La lavanda è conosciuta fin dai tempi più antichi per le sue proprietà antiemetiche, antisettiche, analgesiche, battericide, vasodilatatorie, antinevralgiche, per i dolori muscolari ed è considerata un blando sedativo. L’olio essenziale di lavanda è l’olio eterico più utilizzato in profumeria.
In aromaterapia, viene utilizzata come antidepressivo, tranquillizzante, equilibrante del sistema nervoso, come decongestionante contro i raffreddori e l’influenza. Inoltre viene ritenuta efficace per abbassare la pressione arteriosa, per ridurre i problemi digestivi ed è miscelata con altre sostanza omeopatiche per curare il mal di schiena e il mal d’orecchie.

Beautiful purple orchids photographed in Singapore.
This beautiful orchid plant was just one of the thousands (and I repeat thousands) that I have seen and photographed in Singapore at the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest.
For those who like flowers and plants, this is a must-see on a visit to Singapore, I have taken dozens of photos of which you can find below.

Orchidaceae (Orchidaceae Juss., 1789) are a family of monocotyledonous plants, belonging to the order Orchidales (or Asparagales according to the APG classification). Their flowers are commonly called orchids. This family is made up of perennial herbaceous plants, some of which are able to absorb the substances necessary for their survival from the water present in the environment through aerial roots (autotrophy) and are also capable of nourishing themselves by assimilating substances from decomposing organisms (sapròphytes).
