Venti Settembre street seen from Piazza De Ferrari in Genoa. The beginning of Via XX, the straight main street in the center of Genoa. The street starts from the beautiful Piazza De Ferrari and, thanks to its arcades, has become the main attraction for tourists looking for shopping (all the famous shops are here).

The building built by Benvenuto Pesce Maineri in via XX Settembre. At number 26 of via XX Settembre in Genoa there is this beautiful building that I have already photographed other times but of which only today I discover something. It was built by the urban planner Benvenuto Pesce Manieri, exponent of Art Nouveau and eclecticism.

Number 26, characterised by a more mature and less academic style, has sea water as its main theme: spiral seaweed-shaped motifs that are repeated on the façade and as a constituent element of the antheris, leviathans that become finishing touches to the arches and uprights of the internal railings, dolphins and mythological motifs. All of Genoa seen from Spianata Castelletto. Perhaps it is one of the most beautiful panoramic points to enjoy the view of the Superba. Obviously it is very well known and, above all, very easy to reach thanks to the convenient elevator from Piazza Portello. The view is unparalleled!

The archivolt of the Oratory of San Giacomo in Via Santa Croce in Genoa. This small alley, which passes under a high archivolt, passes right behind the Mura delle Grazie. I always like to venture into the alleys and take photos and, when I can, I always try to learn more about the places I immortalize (and visit).

The Oratory of San Giacomo della Marina is a Catholic religious building in the historic center of Genoa, located on the Mura delle Grazie, in the Molo district. Built in the fifteenth century and rebuilt in the seventeenth century, it is the seat of the “Confraternity of San Giacomo della Marina”. It stands a short distance from the sanctuary of N.S. delle Grazie, on the city walls, in that stretch lapped by the sea until the end of the nineteenth century; throughout the Middle Ages it was an important stop for pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela. The majestic Palazzo San Giorgio in front of the Porto Antico in Genoa. The most photographed palace by visitors to the Porto Antico is definitely this one. Located right in front of the entrance to both the alleys of the historic center and the port. With the beautiful painting on the facade of San Giorgio slaying the dragon.

A creuza that goes towards the port of Genoa Every time I walk around Genoa I always take dozens of photos even if I can't always remember exactly where I was. This is the case: we are in the area behind via Mura delle Grazie but I can't find the exact point. However, this brick alley leads from the alley upstream towards the sea front and the port.

The arcades of Via XX Settembre in the centre of Genoa. Every time I walk along the arcades of Via Venti Settembre (XX Settembre) I can't help but photograph them and this stretch, with the columns and arches decorated in black and white stone, is in my opinion the most beautiful.

The beautiful Piazza Grillo Cattaneo in the alleys of Genoa. Walking through the alleys of the historic center of Genoa, a couple of times already, I ended up in this beautiful little square overlooking one of the buildings of the Genoese Rolli (Palazzo Lorenzo Cattaneo). The splendid entrance portal, on the left, is certainly what attracts the eye but the square itself is really beautiful.

The most evident trace of this intervention is the entrance portal to the palace, created by the Lombard sculptor Antonio della Porta, known as Tamagnino, in 1504. The work reflects the originality of Cattaneo, certainly unique in the Genoese context both for the importance of the client and for the originality of the structure and decoration.
