Some photos of the small village of Tavarone, in the municipality of Maissana (in the province of La Spezia).

The toponym is traced by some to “Tavernone” or “Tabernone”, due to the presence of a tavern in Roman times. The town is indirectly mentioned in the 12th century as the locality of Santo Siro, the name of the parish church. Around the 17th century, the new church of San Bartolomeo Apostolo was built, which preserves a wooden choir from 1715.
