Genoa’s Lanterna (lighthouse) at sunset, backlit.
The Lanterna (lighthouse) commands the gaze and attention of all Genoese and visitors.
Of course, it also attracts all camera lenses, and mine couldn’t be missing.
If I remember correctly (unfortunately, I always take a lot of photos that I don’t have time to post shortly after taking them, and sometimes I don’t remember the details well afterwards), I took it from one of the viewpoints on Corso Carbonara or Castelletto.

There is also a nice official website: lanternadigenova.it.
The Lanterna of Genoa (or simply “Lanterna,” in Genoese a Lanterna de Zena or a Lanterna) is the port lighthouse of the capital of Liguria, the city once known as the Superb or Dominant of the Seas.
For centuries an indispensable instrument for the nighttime navigation of ships entering and leaving the port, the Lanterna is also the city’s symbolic monument, almost a totem of Genoese identity, and as such, it is part of the city’s history.
