The town of Santa Margherita Ligure seen from above.
This is Santa Margherita Ligure seen from La Ruta—beautiful, isn’t it?
This is, in fact, one of the photos I took the morning I went to Genoa by scooter.

Santa Margherita Ligure is located on the eastern Ligurian Riviera, in a closed basin in the northwestern part of the Portofino promontory and in the innermost part of the Tigullio Gulf, with the town developing “ribbon-like” along two main inlets. The town—located east of Genoa—is surrounded by hills covered in Mediterranean vegetation (forests of maritime pines, chestnut trees, and, in the lower reaches, olive groves) on which villas and gardens overlook the so-called “Dolphin Coast,” which connects the town to Portofino. The town is a popular tourist and seaside resort on the eastern Riviera.
